I Paint Dreams

I Paint Dreams is a one woman circus show that explores the intergenerational effects of war and violence. By interweaving first hand accounts from her father's experience in the Nigerian Civil war and elements of spoken word, Chi is able to reveal the embodied nature of trauma, bringing it to life on stage. Through the use of pole and trapeze she is able to communicate themes of resilience and hope. Visual projections intertwined with her movements creating an immersive and deeply symbolic experience for the audience. This performance invites you to reflect, to heal, and to stand in solidarity with Biafra. I Paint Dreams is a powerful call for black autonomy, self-determination, and freedom. It encourages you to hope for a future where black bodies can occupy space, freely shaping their own destinies
